... Patchy fog in the central and southern San Joaquin Valley
this morning...

Patchy fog continues in the central and southern San Joaquin
Valley this morning. At 530 am... the visibilities along the
Highway 99 corridor from Atwater south through Merced to
Madera... and along the Highway 198 corridor from Visalia to
Hanford were locally one quarter mile or less. Visibilities on
Highway 152 were as low as 200 feet... with the Highway patrol
pacing between Road 9 and State Route 59. Elsewhere in the central
and South Valley... visibilities were between 2 and 4 miles... with
higher visibilities along the west side. Fog will become more
widespread toward daybreak as the air continues to cool.

Drivers in the central and southern San Joaquin Valley should
exercise caution during the morning commute. Slow down... leave
extra distance between you and other vehicles... and be alert for
rapidly changing visibilities. Major roads that will be affected
by the patchy fog will include highways 41... 43... 99... 152 and
198.
